New Delhi, [13th July’24] – Naved Alam, an outgoing Cabinet Member of the Aligarh Muslim University Students’ Union paid a courtesy visit to the Honorable Deputy High Commissioner of Malaysia, Mr. Amizal Fadzli Rajali, at the Malaysian High Commission in New Delhi. During this visit, Naved Alam presented a portrait of the esteemed founder of AMU, Sir Syed Ahmad Khan, to the Deputy High Commissioner. Mr. Rajali highly appreciated the gift, recognizing it as a symbol of AMU’s strong cultural and historical values.

Accompanying Naved Alam was Mr. Shakir Hussain, a senior alumnus of AMU and a journalist with the Malaysian National News Agency, BERNAMA.

The discussion highlighted the importance of student exchange programs and our University’s extensive facilities, particularly those designed to support and enrich the experiences of foreign students. Mr. Naved took this opportunity to introduce our University officials, notably mentioning our distinguished Vice Chancellor, Prof. Naima Khatoon, who has the honor of being the first lady Vice Chancellor of AMU. He elaborated on her visionary leadership and her commitment to making AMU a leading institution in both academic and research domains. The meeting also covered discussions on student exchange programs and the extensive facilities provided by AMU to international students. The Deputy High Commissioner commended the diverse curriculum and high research standards at AMU. He expressed his delight in learning about AMU’s diverse academic environment and showed a keen interest in visiting the historic campus.

In an exciting development, the Deputy High Commissioner extended an invitation to Naved Alam to visit Malaysian universities and suggested interactions with student union representatives from these institutions to further explore the possibilities of youth exchange programs.
